President Clinton saluted Village Green for its innovative use of environmentally friendly, cost saving materials and energy saving systems. In fact, Village Green is one of only five communities in the nation built under the new PATH program, which stands for Partnership For Advancing Technology in Housing.
Village Green is the largest photovoltaic housing community in Southern California. Upgraded, super insulation combined with gas-fired air cooling, space heating and water heating systems, and the photovoltaics, will help reduce homeowner energy bills from 30-50%. Additionally, these energy-efficient technologies will assist buyers in qualifying for mortgages.
Village Green is a partnership by Lee Homes, Braemar Urban Ventures and Fannie Mae American Community Fund. Companies such as Southern California Gas Company, BP Solar, Fannie Mae, and the Department of Water and Power played an integral role in the success of Village Green.
