Principals

  The principals of Lee Homes have worked together for many years, developing superb relationships among themselves, their employees, consultants and customers. They have combined experience of over 100 years in the development field. While each principal has specific areas of responsibility, the other principals are well qualified to do any task.

JEFF LEE, PRESIDENT

  Mr. Lee a second generation builder, runs the day to day operations of the company.  Since graduating from the University of Southern California in 1979, Jeff has worked in all aspects of the company including Purchasing Agent, Superintendent, Project Manager and Director of Marketing and Sales. In 1997, Jeff became president of Lee Homes.

In over 20 years in the development business, the company has specialized in urban infill from mixed use in Venice to custom homes in Marina del Rey. Also, being in public-private partnerships with redevelopment agencies building attached and detached homes for low and moderate income families and seniors, representing over $900,000,000 in sales.  the company has received over 50 local, regional and national design awards and is also known as an innovator in their filed. Their energy efficient Village Green development adjacent to the Sylmar/San Fernando Metrolink station was the site where President Bill Clinton announced the Partnership in Advancing Technology and Housing (PATH) at the ground breaking ceremony in 1998.

Jeff has been a member of the Greater Los Angeles/Ventura Building Industry Association Board of Director, is chairman of the Los Angeles City Governmental Relations Committee and has been named Builder of the Year in 1993 and 1999. He is also on the board of Los Angeles Family Housing and an appointee of Mayor James Hahn to the $100 Million Housing Trust Fund Oversight Committee.

MICHAEL ADLER, CHIEF FINANCIAL OFFICER/EXEC. VICE PRESIDENT

  Mr. Adler handles the day to day operations of the company. An honors graduate of California State University Northridge in Finance/Real Estate and a California Real Estate Broker, Michael has been associated with the firm and its principals since April 1983 and in 1988 became Chief Financial Officer.

During Michael’s tenure with the firm, projects were developed and built with total values exceeding $900 million. Michael’s areas of responsibilities include: financing; partnerships; accounting; insurance; tax planning; investments; pension plan administration; computerization; budgeting; land acquisition; project underwriting; broker activities.

Michael’s professional affiliations include: Board of Directors, Venice Next Step; Member, Los Angeles Board of Realtors; Member, San Fernando Valley Board of Realtors; Palm Desert Board of Realtors; Member Venice Action Committee; Member, Urban Land Institute; Member, Building Industry Association; Treasurer, Culver City Babe Ruth League.
 
HARLAN LEE, FOUNDER & CHAIRMAN

  Mr. Lee, the founder and visionary of the organization, has been a homebuilder for over 40 years. As Chairman of Lee Homes, he directs the planning, design, product development and marketing of all our communities. Through his guidance and leadership the company has achieved prominence and success in a highly competitive industry. He was one of the first builders selected to participate in the Master Planned Communities of Janss Conejo, Westlake Village, Mission Viejo, Calabasas Park and Via Verde. His Joint Venture Partners have been some of the largest corporations in America: American Hawaiian Steamship Company, Bechtol Corporation, Southern California Gas Company, Southern California Edison Company, Janss Company, Pauley Petroleum, World Savings & Loan and Mitsubishi International. His companies have built over 6,000 homes and 1,000 apartment units over the past 39 years.
Mr. Lee has been highly honored by industry and consumer groups for the excellence of his homes and he has given service to his industry and his community as a Board Member of the National Association of Home Builders and Member of the Urban Land Institute. His numerous civic and community activities include former Founder and President of the Venice Action Committee, board Member of the American Sailing Association and Board Member for the Foundation of the Junior Blind, including serving as developer for innovative camp for the Junior Blind.

CALVIN SWEET, VICE CHAIRMAN

  Mr. Sweet, Vice Chairman of Lee Homes has been an integral part of Lee Homes for the past 20 years and currently oversees the firm’s construction and special projects divisions. He was President of his own development corporation, Calvin Sweet Homebuilders, Inc., between 1950 and 1970. In 1970, Mr. Sweet joined Harlan Lee to form Lee & Sweet Partnership for projects in the Palm Springs – Indian Wells area. Mr. Sweet was the first merchant builder to develop the “Total Home, California Contemporary Design”, a 116-home development in Northridge. Mr .Sweet has been a licensed California General Contractor for over 35 years.
