VIPs from Lee Homes and CIM Group, Centre Street Lofts’ builders, will also attend the ceremony along with Christian Moeller, Mojo’s artist. A German artist renowned for his contemporary, innovative pieces, Moeller was selected by city officials and the builders to create Mojo. The blue, robotic sculpture is perpetually in motion with interactive lighting.
Centre Street Lofts and Mojo are considered the forefront of San Pedro’s redevelopment process. With their completion, San Pedro has emerged from the shadows of popular South Bay enclaves as a renewed and desirable seaside community.
A 65-foot tall building, Centre Street Lofts consists of 20,000 sq.ft. ground level retail space plus six townhome-style live/work residences with street level access. These are all sold. Retailers to date include a Wells Fargo bank and a Starbucks, opening soon. The Nosh, a new neighborhood café, is directly across from Centre Street Lofts.
The four stories above the retail space feature 110 for-sale residential lofts ranging from approximately 830 sq.ft. to 2,373 sq.ft. of living space with one- and two-bedrooms. The open-style interiors feature concrete floors, stainless steel appliances, granite kitchen and bath countertops, and maple cabinetry.
Amenities include two designated parking spaces per residence, a landscaped courtyard with a barbecue area, and a private residents-only entry with two elevators. Seventy-five percent sold, one bedroom lofts are priced from $345,000, two bedroom lofts from $445,000 and two-story townhomes are from $595,000.
